Pools, Mailbox Lighting, and Spring Cleanup

Greetings Neighbors! This update contains a few updates from the Cedar Springs HOA Board plus some information from the City of North Liberty.

Above-Ground Swimming Pools Subject to Board Approval

Given the ongoing pandemic and the limited use of the city swimming pool this summer, the Cedar Springs HOA Board has voted to allow above-ground pools for the summer of 2021 on an individual basis, subject to board approval.

To get your above-ground pool approved, submit a description of the pool’s size and design, along with one or more photos to us via email.

The homeowner will also be responsible for adhering to North Liberty requirements for swimming pools which may include installing a fence or barrier around the pool and removing any ladder that provides entry to the pool when the pool is not in use.

Pools may be set up May 15, 2021, or later and must be removed by September 15, 2021.

Mailbox Lighting Update

We are moving forward with phase one of lighting the mailbox clusters. We will be installing a streetlight on the south edge of the 256 mailboxes near the entrance to Cedar Springs.

We received quotes from Van Meter and Ace Electric which were over $17,000. Alliant Energy has a program which allows us to install this light at a one-time cost of $799.38, and a monthly charge of $20.95 to cover maintenance or replacement of the light and pole.

The board voted to move ahead with the Alliant Energy proposal and is currently working with Alliant Energy and the North Liberty city officials to get on their installation schedule.

This weekend, Steve Rudin is leading a project to install mulch around the trees on the south side of the pond. Jay Parsons will be doing the annual spring cleanup at the pond and HOA land east of there on April 10. If you would like to help, please contact us.

City Spring Cleanup Day

The city will be doing their annual spring cleanup day on April 24. Learn more on the city website.

The city would also like to share information with you about future park plans and improvements. Please watch this video to learn more.
